ENMU tracksters honored

By virtue of wins in last week's Lone Star Conference meet at Canyon, Texas, Eastern New Mexico University's Kaspars Briska and Joseph Metcalf are on the All-LSC men's track squad, released on Friday by the conference office in Richardson, Texas.

Briska, a sophomore from Riga, Latvia, won the 5,000 with a Buffalo Sports Park record time of 15 minutes, 11.75 seconds, the fifth-best time in program history. He was also second in the 3,000 steeplechase, and his 18 points tied him for fifth-most in the meet.

Metcalf, a junior from Norfolk, Neb., posted a Buffalo Sports Park record and the second-fastest time in program history in winning the 1,000 in 31.48.27
