Medlin in second for ENMU

The Eastern New Mexico University rodeo team opened competition at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association College National Finals Rodeo on Monday, with junior Logan Medlin of Tatum taking a second-place performance in the team roping.

Medlin and Billy Bob Brown of Tarleton State tied for second place in the first go of the team roping, with a time of 6.2 seconds. Senior Michael Trujillo of Portales was in a tie for 15th in the event, with a time of 7.8 seconds in the first go.

Junior TiAda Gray of Lovington is 32nd in the standings for breakaway roping, after a time of 3.3 seconds in the first go. Katelyn Lide, a junior from Odessa, Texas, is tied for 29th after the first go of the goat tying with a time of 7.5 seconds.
