Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
We walk by faith and faith is the victory. Trusting God and believing his promises calm the anxious heart. The Bible is filled with example after example of God’s faithfulness.
Noah built an ark by faith. By faith Abraham obeyed God and lived as a stranger in a foreign country.
By faith, Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born. Later, by faith, Moses led God’s people through the Red Sea on dry ground.
Joseph, by faith, when his end was near gave instructions about his bones. He wanted his bones to be taken with the Israelites too.
Imagine how Israelites felt when they saw Pharaoh and his soldiers coming after them. Around 600,000 people had to cross the Red Sea and they had to hurry.
These great heroes of faith were all looking for the city of the “Builder and Maker of God.” They pressed on in spite of enduring circumstances. Their faith enabled them to not only persevere, but to be victorious.
The lack of faith in our lives brings many problems like insomnia, anxiety and worry.
God is who he says and he will do what he says.
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”
(Hebrews 11:8 NIV).
Faith is believing possibility.
Faith is strengthened by patience.
Faith is an attitude of expectation.
Faith is an ongoing process.
Faith is a change in behavior.
Faith is enduring to the end.
Faith, Oh to believe like a child. I was reading a story for my 4-year old granddaughter. I just kept coughing and I had to stop here and there.
“Stop Mawmaw!” then Traci said, “You bad cough thing. You go now and don’t come back! Now Mawmaw … read!”
I finished the story without a cough.
“I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it” (Mark 10:14 NIV).
Faith believes and trusts in God. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31: 6 NIV.
