It can be created by a series of unfortunate events — from unemployment, medical limitations and bills to just outright bad luck, but nevertheless the need is real. Hunger is not only a problem in third-world countries, but can be found in the U.S. as well.
To make a difference, Cannon Air Force Base is participating in the Feds Feed Families program, where food is collected through donations and distributed to food banks and shelters that can give those in need a helping hand. The food drive is held annually and gives federal employees an opportunity to make an impact on their local communities.
Donations are being accepted between now and Aug. 28. A drop-box can be found in the Commissary here. All donations will go to the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico in support of youth in Curry, Roosevelt, Quay, De Baca and Guadalupe counties.
