Local Brief: Portales man hit with van

A 24-year old male pedestrian was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital after he was hit by a van early Sunday morning, according to Portales Police Chief Doug Jones.

Jones said Monday evening he had not received an update on the condition of the victim, who he declined to identify, citing department policy.

At 2:21 a.m., police dispatch received a call about a subject being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of University Avenue and Avenue K.

As of Monday evening, the accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed or citations issued.
