Commissioners to impose 2013 property tax rates

A special Roosevelt County Commission meeting will be held at 9 a.m. today for the purpose of imposing the 2013 property tax rates, according to county officials.

County Tax Assessor Kenner Carasco said this is a yearly routine practice that the commission has to carry out and the rates are issued by the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.

Carasco declined to say what the actual rate changes are before the meeting, but said most property tax rates went down.
