What are your plans after high school?

I want to go to ENMU to study either film, theater, or journalism. I have an interest in writing for all three.

What is the toughest part about being an editor?

I’d say the toughest part about editing would be the short amount of time I have between receiving the articles and when they need to be turned in. It’s the deadlines, for sure.

Are you nervous about graduation?

I’m not really nervous surprisingly. I have seen several friends graduate and it doesn’t look easy to live on your own, but it definitely looks manageable.

What’s a good movie you’ve seen recently?

I just saw “Ender’s Game,” and that was phenomenal.

When did you first gain an interest in journalism?

My freshman year, because it gave me the opportunity to expand my writing abilities to more than just random scribblings in my free time to stuff that could actually make a difference.

If you could pick a guest columnist for a month for your paper, who would it be and why?

I don’t know if dead people count, but I’d pick an old journalist whose pen name was Nellie Bly because she did outrageously awesome stories and would do anything to get a scoop.

Pick any three artists or bands for a concert and choose the location.

I’d see OneRepublic in Greece, Awolnation in Chicago and My Chemical Romance in Portales for a friend.

Who is your favorite author and what is your favorite book by that author?

My favorite author is David Levithan. I like his book with Rachel Cohn, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

What was a memorable moment for you so far in high school?

My most memorable moment from high school would be meeting my friends, who are now my family, in the drama program my sophomore year.
