Seven vying for Little Miss Merry Christmas

There are seven contestants in this year’s little miss merry christmas contest. The annual contest is a fundraiser for the white Christmas lights that are on display throughout town and on the Roosevelt County Courthouse during the holiday season.

The contestant that raises the most money through donations collected by her sponsor and through additional fundraising efforts will be crowned little miss merry christmas. The contest will run until 5 p.m. on Dec. 4.

Coronation of the winner will take place on Dec. 5 at the Yam Theatre.

Julianna Langer is 5 years old and the daughter of Curtis and Vonnie Langer. Julianna attends Brown Early Learning Center and is in kindergarten. She has one brother, Zackary Langer, age 6. She has one dog, Hercules, and a hamster named Sweet Pea. Her hobbies include dancing, cheerleading and tee ball. What she likes most about Christmas is the pretty lights, Christmas tree, family presents and Santa Claus. She is sponsored by David Bonner Insurance, located at 310 S. Main St.

Rebekah Gibson is 6 years old and attends first grade at James Elementary school. She is the daughter of Trisha Mullins and Shaune Gibson and has three siblings, Brooke, 13, Logan, 9, and Lakota, 8 . Rebekah's hobbies consist of Bible quizzing, cheer, gymnastics, dancing and singing. What she likes most about Christmas is Christ's birthday, Christmas programs at church, Christmas tree and lights, Santa, presents and her birthday three days later. Rebekah is sponsored by McCarty's Café, located at 500 W. Second St.

Danika Encinias is 8 years old and the daughter of Amerblie Puebla and Michael Pena. Her siblings are Malachi, 7, Zillah, 5, and Michael, 13. Danika attends Valencia Elementary. Her pets are her horses. Her hobbies are soccer, basketball and volleyball. What she likes most about Christmas are the presents and she loves the Christmas lights around town. She loves to decorate the tree with her family and they all bake together for the holiday. Danika is sponsored by Papa Murphy’s Pizza, located at 421 S. Avenue C.

Keilee D'Lynn Cole Rowland is 6 years old and is the daughter of Stacey and Clay Rowland. Keilee attends first grade at James Elementary. She has four siblings, Dakota, 18, Zach, 17, Cole, 9, and Kenzee, 8. Her three dogs are named Abby, Bo, and Shooter and she loves dancing, singing, and cheerleading. What she likes most about Christmas is the fun times and to see Santa Claus. Keilee is sponsored by Roosevelt Brewing Company and Public House, located at 201 S. Main St.

Her hobbies consist of singing and dancing, painting, and playing with her little dog. What she likes most about Christmas is getting to spend time with family, the food and opening presents.
