Police: One arrest, no injuries in shooting

Portales police said no one was injured and an arrest was made Saturday by officers responding to reports of shots fired at a home between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on West 17th Street.

Police declined to provide details about the suspect, citing a pending an investigation.

According to witnesses, the street was blocked off by police, and the fire department, an ambulance, and New Mexico State Police were also present on the scene.
