Last time out: The Chaparrals routed University of the Southwest 115-62 on Friday at home. The Greyhounds’ last outing was a week ago today, when they outscored LCU 14-0 over the final three minutes to pull out an 84-79 victory at Lubbock.
Of note: Last week’s win gives the Hounds a 29-28 all-time advantage over the Chaps. … ENMU beat USW by virtually the same score (114-62) at home on Nov. 16. … ENMU senior PG Devone Davis leads the Lone Star Conference is steals (4.5 spg in two games). He missed a season-opening 68-65 loss to Missouri Southern at Las Vegas, Nev. … Senior G Rodney Blackmon is second in the LSC in scoring (19.3 ppg), assists (5.3 apg) and free throw percentage (94.4). His miss at LCU on Tuesday ended a streak of 29 consecutive makes, dating to last season. … Four LCU players average in double figures, led by senior F Eli Baker (16.0 ppg) and sophomore G Quay Johnson (14.3). Baker also leads the team in rebounding (8.7 rpg). … LCU is averaging 101.7 ppg so far and shooting nearly 60 percent from the field. The Hounds will be in a four-team weekend event at West Texas A&M over the weekend, playing Pittsburg State on Friday and Southwestern Oklahoma on Saturday. Both games are slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. (MST).
