Information on low cost ways to perk up your home, how to create “instant heirlooms” using unfinished furniture, and ways to use liquid dye will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday, at noon. (All times are Mountain.)

Interior designer, Beth Secosky is going to show some low cost ways to perk up your home. Her discussion will cover bookcases, coffee tables, pillows, and frames, as well as up-cycling old furniture. Her business is EASYdesigns, LLC in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Bruce Johnson is the spokesperson for Minwax in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. He’s going to show how to create your own “instant heirlooms” using unfinished furniture. He’ll show how to distress wood, stain it, and add wax to provide protection and a timeless finish.

Jann Johnson is a designer and crafter from New York City, and she will show how to use liquid dye for three different dyeing techniques. She represents ILovetoCreate.com.

Information on creating items with threads and fabrics, using stabilizers in embroidery designs, and de-cluttering our lives will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m. (All times are Mountain.)

Patsy Shields, author and designer with Sulky of America in Sellersburg, Indiana, will show how to use items around the house to create décor decorated with threads and fabrics. The one she will demonstrate is called a “fringed flower clicker bag.”

Sewing expert Kay Brooks will give an overview of which stabilizers should be used for different types of fabrics and embroidery designs. Her company is RNK Distributing in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Author and professional organizer Kathryn Porter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, will explain why most people have “too much stuff” and why it’s so hard to de-clutter our lives. She will discuss different types of clutter, goals, and how to develop an individualized cleaning system.
