STILLWATER, Okla. — Competing in the small-university division of the meet, Eastern New Mexico University’s women finished third out of four teams while the men were sixth out of seven in Saturday’s Cowboy Jamboree cross country meet, hosted by Oklahoma State.
Junior Amber Saiz led the Zias, placing eighth in 19 minutes and 12.87 seconds over five kilometers, while senior Beth Blind finished 11th in 19:18.78.
Metro State took team honors with 34 points while the Zias, at 49, were four points behind Wayland Baptist. Hannah Fields of Oklahoma Baptist was the individual winner in 17:27.66.
Senior Jacob Lozano led the Greyhounds, posting a time of 26:16.97 over 8K to finish 14th. Senior Kevin Roa was 17th in 26:34.30.
West Texas A&M took team honors with 48 points to 81 for Metro State. The Buffaloes also had the individual winner in Geoffrey Kipchumba in 25:30.27.
ENMU teams return to action on Oct. 10 in a dual meet against WT at Canyon, Texas.
