Clovis High senior post signs with Zias

The Eastern New Mexico University women’s basketball team received a commitment Wednesday, in the form of Clovis High senior Dee Briggins.

“I really liked the coaches and the girls,” said Briggins, one of four CHS basketball players to sign with a college program during an afternoon ceremoney at the school. “It’s a really good group. They had a family bond.”

In her junior year, which saw Clovis finish 29-1 and reach the Class 5A semifinals, the 5-foot-11 Briggins played all 30 games and averaged 2.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Briggins was joined at the ceremony by Danni Williams (Texas A&M), Shelby Jones (Abilene Christian) and Nichele Hyman (University of Texas Pan American).
