NM fishing report — Nov. 13

This fishing report, provided by Bill Dunn and the Department of Game and Fish, has been generated from the best information available from area officers and anglers. Conditions encountered after the report is compiled may differ, as stream, lake and weather conditions alter fish and angler activities.

Northeast

Conchas Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using tubes, worms and crank baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using slab spoons for white bass. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp ranged from the high 50s to the low 60s.

Eagle Nest Lake: Trout fishing was rated as good to excellent by anglers using salmon peach and rainbow Power Bait. Fishing for perch was very good using worms. Kokanee snagging was nonexistent. We had no reports on northern pike. The boat ramp has been closed due to low water conditions. The lake remains open to canoes, kayaks and other paddle craft.

Lake Alice: Fishing was fair to good using marshmallows for trout. Fishing pressure was light.

Lake Maloya: Fishing was good using chartreuse Power Bait, marshmallows and Pistol Petes under a bubble for trout. We had no reports on perch.

Manzano Lake: Fishing was fair using salmon peach Power Bait, salmon eggs and Pistol Petes for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Monastery Lake: Fishing was good using Power Bait and salmon eggs for trout.

Pecos River: Trout fishing was fair using egg patterns, salmon eggs and worms. We had no reports on catfish.

Red River: Fishing was fair to good using wooly buggers, poundmeisters, spinners and salmon eggs for trout.

Rio Grande: High water slowed fishing some this past week but there were a few trout caught by anglers using weighted wooly buggers and worms. We had no reports on other species.

Storrie Lake: Fishing was slow for all species and fishing pressure was very light.

Ute Lake: Fishing was fair to good using slab spoons and blade baits for white bass. Anglers who found schools of fish did well using slab spoons in 28 to 32 feet of water. Fishing was slow to fair using slab spoons for walleye. The walleye were scattered. A few channel catfish were caught by anglers using stink baits. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp ranged from the high 50s to the low 60s.

Southeast

Bataan Lake: Fishing was fair using Power Bait, salmon eggs and worms for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Blue Hole Park Pond: Fishing was slow to fair using Power Bait for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Chaparral Park Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.

Green Meadow Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was very light.

Greene Acres Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.

Jal Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was very light.

Lake Van: Fishing was slow for all species.

Oasis Park Lake: Fishing was fair to good using Power Bait and spinners for trout. We had no reports on other species.

Perch Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.

Pecos River: Stream flow below Sumner on Monday was 4.2 cfs.

Ruidoso River: Stream flow at Hollywood on Monday was 32 cfs. Fishing was fair using salmon eggs for trout.

Sumner Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was very light.
