Baptist Children’s Home’s Mario Vidana, 15, staples lights onto the children’s home’s Christmas Jubilee Light Parade float. Foster children from the home helped to assemble the float Thursday afternoon.

Foster children, tutors and barn managers came together Thursday afternoon to build the Baptist Children’s Home’s float for tonight’s 28th annual Christmas Jubilee Light Parade.

Children’s Home barn manager Charitie Kennedy said the float is the home’s first entry into the annual parade.

Five of the home’s foster children spent an hour of their Thursday afternoon helping Kennedy and Jamie Smylie assemble the float at the children’s home barn on South Avenue I.

Smylie, a tutor and barn manager for the home, said children from the home will ride through the parade in the large sleigh shaped trailer that will be pulled by two of the home’s horses.
