Of note: ENMU leads the all-time series 3-0, but this is the first meeting in Espanola. … Fifth-year NNMC coach Ryan Cordova played college football at Fort Lewis for Gus Bradley, now the coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also coached women’s and then men’s basketball at Fort Lewis with former Clovis, Texico and Portales coach Keith Durham from 1995-2000. … Junior F Lawrence Domingo leads the Hounds in scoring (14.0 ppg) and rebounding (5.8 rpg), and has scored in double figures in all but one game. Junior G John Gilliam is second on the team in both categories (12.9 and 5.4, respectively), while senior G Michael Randle (11.9) and junior G Demetrius Balark (11.3) are also averaging double figures in points. … The Hounds are scoring 80.9 ppg while the Eagles come in at 83.5. … Northern New Mexico’s leading scorers are senior G Gabe Martinez (15.0 ppg), freshman G Walid Ahmed Aly (12.9), sophomore F Will Harvey (10.7 ppg) and senior F Eric Garcia (10.2). Martinez is shooting 49 percent (25-of-51) from 3-point range while Ahmed, who is from Cairo, Egypt, leads in overall FG shooting (59 percent). … The NAIA Eagles come in struggling, having lost four in a row and six of their last seven, but five of those games — including the lone win, over Oklahoma Panhandle State — came against NCAA Division II competition. —
