Plant goes year and a half without injuries
The Friona Cargill beef plant has gone a year and a half without any lost time injuries — more than 6 million worker hours, according to a Cargill news release.
The plant employs 2,000 people at the 900,000 square-foot facility. Workers process 900,000 tons of beef annually in an environment full of heavy machinery and cutting tools, according to the release.
“We care about each other, and are vigilant to ensure people do not get hurt,” said Matt Leu, the plant’s general manager.
