Information on preparing salads, travel tips and an online resource for living gluten-free will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at noon.
Connie Moyers represents Mrs. Cubbison’s Kitchens and she’s going to talk about the abundant selection of pre-packaged salads now available in most supermarkets, as well as all the add-ons that can be used, including croutons, tortilla strips and wonton strips. Moyers lives in Clovis.

Adventure writer and photographer Yvonne Lanelli will share some super tips for savvy travelers. She recommends doing a lot of research before undertaking a trip. She has lots of good suggestions from avoiding scams, to packing tips, and even information for international travel. Lanelli is from Alto.
K. C. Pomering is the founder of G-Free Foodie, and she’s going to tell about this online resource for living deliciously gluten free. She’ll talk about all the options that are available in her Box Club as well as why anyone would need to be gluten free. She’s from Madera, California.
Information on allergy relief, furniture staining and preparing blueberry beverages will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Cleaning expert, Laura Dellutri knows how irritating it can be when allergies take over the home and our health. She’ll suggest some cleaning products on the market that provide allergy relief at a very low cost. Her company is Healthy Housekeeper, Inc. and she lives in Overland Park, Kansas.
Author, columnist and spokesperson for Minwax, Bruce Johnson, says that changing or enhancing the color of wood is far easier than most people believe, especially with a few valuable tips he’ll share. He calls this Staining 101. Minwax is headquartered in Upper Saddle, New Jersey.
Jill Klosowski, spokesperson for TrueBlue, talks about the benefits of blueberries, tells how to get a daily serving, and shares some quick and easy healthy drinks that every member of the family will enjoy — and they’re good for you, too. She lives in Vancouver, Brith Columbia.
California King Salmon Salad
1 lb. California King Salmon filets
Olive oil spray
2 tsp. olive oil
2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
Salt & pepper to taste
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
1 1/2 tsp. fresh rosemary leaves minced
Spray broiler pan or grill with the cooking spray. Preheat oven broiler or grill. Mix the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary. Brush mixture on both sides of the fish. Mix fish under the broiler or on the grill. Broil about 4 inches from the heat for 5 minutes per half-inch of thickness, or until fish is flaky in the middle. Cut salmon into 3-4 inch chunks. Prepare salad as follows:
6 oz. bag spring salad mix, or your favorite mix
1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced, then cut in half
1/4 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
1 cup Mrs. Cubbison’s Kitchen Tuscan Herb Focaccia Croutons or Basil Pesto Panini Croutons
Vinaigrette or your favorite salad dressing to taste
In a big bowl, add salad mix, red bell peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Top with salmon chunks and croutons. Toss with your favorite dressing, or serve dressing on the side. (This salad is as good with cold salmon as it is with hot.)
