Information on making a velvet stamped photo album and making a growth chart will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at noon.

Lisa Rojas is a mixed media artist and designer and she’s going to show how to make a beautiful velvet stamped photo book. Who knew you could stamp on elegant fabric such as velvet? Her company is Stampin’ Queen Creations in Victorville, California.

Bruce Johnson is the spokesperson for Minwax in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. He is going to show how to use an oversized wooden ruler to make a growth chart to mark the height milestones as a child grows. The best part is that this ruler can be moved from room to room or taken with you when a family relocates.

Information on using furniture stains, de-cluttering our gift giving, and a discussion on how high schools have changed will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Lynn Hack-Gerhart will show how to apply stains on furniture to create beautiful designs. She’ll also talk about opaque versus translucent stains and explain how to choose or match a color. She represents QRB Industries in Houston, Texas.

Author Kathryn Porter will share some creative ways to ensure that when we give gifts to people, the gifts don’t become another piece of clutter for the recipient. She lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In her book, “High School’s Not Forever,” author, Dr. Jane Bluestein will talk about how schools have changed in the last decade, how what makes a person a success in high school is sometimes the exact opposite of what makes them a success in life. Her company is Instructional Support Services, Inc. in Albuquerque.
