Water erupts from a ruptured main near the intersection of First and Mitchell Streets Thursday evening.
As of 8:30 p.m., EPCOR District Manager Brian Daly said both incidents were contained and that crews would make more permanent fixes on Friday morning.
Daly said he received calls about both incidents shortly after 5 p.m.
• Near the intersection of First and Mitchell, there was a rupture of a 6-inch cast iron main. “It blew out of the ground and we were able to isolate it, so nobody was out of service,” Daly said.
• A shutoff of approximately three hours was made for Molly Circle, near Norris Street. That, Daly said, was the result of a fitting failure on an 8-inch valve.
