The 73rd Golden Globes Awards aired exactly one week ago today and, even though I didn’t tune in to watch the red carpet arrivals, I got a glimpse of some fashion favorites on my favorite online sources. The 2016 Golden Globes was the first major fashion moment of the year.
Award season, and any other red carpet event or party, is so much fun to watch for the fashion girl. They’re the place to critique and/or get inspired. Here is a little bit about what some celebrities wore.

One favorite of mine was Jennifer Lawrence wearing Dior. She carried a beautifully cut red gown that gave a bit of an orange-type hue and the fit was perfect. She topped off the look with an up-do, red lips and a stunning Chopard necklace.
Cate Blanchett was another favorite of mine. In fact, I would vote her best dressed. She wore a Givenchy Haute Couture dress and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. What was so fantastic about her dress were the tassels that draped from it. She was a pretty pink walking tassel. You will have to see the look to appreciate it.
Eddie Redmayne wore a Gucci suit that had great detail. But the men weren’t the only ones in suits. “Orange Is The New Black” star Taylor Schilling wore a sparkly suit by Thakoon.
Lady Gaga was pretty in Versace and Creed star. Michael B. Jordan was my favorite dressed man. Katy Perry was pretty in pink by Prada, but her 1960s big hair throwback stood out the most. Helen Mirren stunned in a black Badgley Mischka and Jane Fonda was pretty in a crème colored Saint Laurent Couture gown.
Men and women of all ages made their mark on the first fashion event of the year. Celebrities brought their A-game to the Globe’s red carpet. It looks like it’s going to be an interesting year for fashion. I can’t wait to see what new trends will stick and which ones will fade away.
