1956: Clovis’ State theater was showing “The Court Martial of Billy Mitchell,” starring Gary Cooper.
Promotional ads described it as “The fighting story of a fighting man.”
1941: Eastern New Mexico University’s boxing team was doing “roadwork and shadow boxing” in preparation for upcoming weekend bouts against New Mexico Military Institute.
“Mike Gallegos is in the best condition of his career,” the Clovis News-Journal reported.
