Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
This weekend, the kids in my neighborhood tried to make a slide off of the fence. The kids propped a piece of wood against the fence and covered it with a tarp. They tried to slide a few times, then gave up to go do something else.

That reminded me of a slide I made when I was a kid. We had a good sized doghouse in our backyard and I thought it was a perfect size to slide off. My friend, Tom, came over to give me a hand.
We found a piece of corrugated metal that was about six foot long. We put it up to the edge of the dog house and nailed it down. It was about five feet off the ground.
Tom thought I should go first since it was in my yard. I climbed up on the dog house and got ready to slide. It might have been that I was not very tall, but that dog house seemed ten feet tall. I slipped off the dog house onto that piece of metal. The metal folded up and sent me flying to the ground.
We decided to give up and go do something else.
