Summer reading program unveiled

Clovis Municipal Schools has unveiled its 2016 summer reading program for students in grades Pre-K through eighth to encourage students to read throughout the summer.

Officials said summer reading logs are being sent home with students and additional reading logs can be picked up at the Clovis Municipal Schools’ Administration Office, 1009 Main Street, or can be downloaded on the Clovis Schools’ website:

Students can bring completed reading logs to the Clovis Municipals Schools’ Administration Office, starting June 1 for a summer treat (while supplies last) donated by local businesses. The last day to submit reading logs is Aug. 5.

Schools hosting another job fair

Clovis Municipal Schools will host a Preschool Educational Assistant Job Fair on Wednesday at the Student Support Center, 1600 Sutter Place.

Prospective candidates who hold an associate’s degree or are interested in pursuing an associate’s degree in early childhood education are encouraged to attend.

Information regarding employment as a preschool educational assistant (EA) at either Lincoln-Jackson Family Center or Los Niños Early Intervention Center will be available at the job fair.

If employed, tuition assistance is available.
