Nieka Style: Kimono best cape for summer

My newest favorite garment for summer is the summer kimono cape. They’ve maintained their trendy popularity for the past few years and I think they are just great for so many reasons.

For one, they look great on every body type. If you’re not in your best shape, they are great to cover up those problem areas. Even if you just want a little more coverage for a pair of shorts, halter top or whatever you want to wear with it.

The feel of this piece is very bohemian, where they look like a combination of a scarf and a cape. They come in various lengths. You can wear them short, long, midi and oversized, down to your feet. The longer they are the better because they look great with high heels if you decide to dress your up look. But you can also wear them to lounge; a date night, to festivals, out with friends or even on the beach as a cover up.

There are different styles and cuts of these kimono capes as well. Depending on what look you’re going for, there’s one for you. Whether you like a very feminine, grunge or rock and roll look, you can find them all. There are floral prints, lace and trimmed in fringes.

The only downside to wearing these is that you do have to have a bit of imagination to set your look apart from others. It’s easy to throw on the expected cut off shorts and bustier top but you may want come up with something a little more creative. The kimono cape is the jacket of summer and anyone can find an outfit to wear one with.
