Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
The Clovis Animal Shelter at 2203 East Brady Avenue, has picked up many homeless animals that community members can adopt.
The adoption cost for any dog or cat is $165.00, which covers the animal’s sterilization, microchipping and initial vaccinations. New pet owners can also pick up a free pet license at the animal shelter with proof of a rabies vaccination.
The shelter is open 10 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday- Friday. Saturday adoption-only hours, which were approved by the Clovis city commission in February, are currently not offered because of staffing issues, City Manager Larry Fry said. Fry was hopeful the situation would be rectified soon, but couldn’t give an absolute date.
