Borden: Minimal dentistry a topic on show

Information on creating a photo display frame, minimally invasive dentistry, and turkey recipes for any time of the year will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at noon. (All times are Mountain.)

Creative Living

Bruce Johnson is the spokesperson for Minwax in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, and he’s going to show how to stain and create a photo display frame. Using an old empty picture frame, Johnson will turn it into a unique and easy way to display photographs, notes, lists, etc.

Carol Vander Stoep is a dental hygienist, author and myofunctional therapist and she believes no dentistry is the best dentistry of all. She’ll discuss minimally invasive dentistry without anesthetic or drills and even says that decaying teeth can heal, and she’ll explain how this happens. Her book is titled “Mouth Matters.” She’s from Austin, Texas.

Janice Stahl is a turkey talk-line expert with Butterball, and she’s going to demonstrate recipe ideas for each season of the year, and talk about ways to save money by going to their website for click and clip coupons for promotions and cost-savings. Stahl lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Information on quilt blocking methods, creating ambiance in the home and remodeling will be the featured topics on “Creative Living” on Tuesday at noon and on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Jean Gilles Dean is a quilting expert from Midland, Texas, and she's going to explain why a quilt needs to be blocked and when to do it as well as explain the different methods, such as steaming, wetting and drying.

Rita Fuentes will show how to create the perfect ambiance in your home and save money to splurge for special occasions. She is an Independent Consultant with PartyLite in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

According to Paul Zuch there are important questions we should ask when interviewing a remodeler. Not only will his suggestions help establish a company or individual’s qualifications and reputation, it’ll help find the right person for the job. He represents the National Association of Remodeling Industry, Int’l. and lives in Allen, Texas.

Turkey, pepper quesadillas

• 1 package (5 ounces) Butterball® Thin Sliced Honey Roasted Turkey Breast

• 8 slices Swiss cheese

• 1/4 cup chopped roasted red peppers

• 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

• 1 tablespoon olive oil

• 4 (10 inch) flour tortillas

Place equal amounts of turkey, cheese, roasted peppers, and parsley on each of two tortillas. Top each with another tortilla. Place a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add olive oil. Tilt skillet to coat bottom. Carefully add the tortillas. Cook 3 minutes on each side, pressing down on top with a spatula, or until the cheese is melted and the tortillas are golden. Remove from pan and cut into wedges. Serves 4.
