Portales firefighters work to put out a fire on a home on Garnet Road Saturday afternoon.
PORTALES — A Portales residential home on the 1900 block of Garnet Road was destroyed after it caught fire on Saturday.
The home was owned by two adults, according to Portales Fire Department Battalion Chief Lance Hill.
The two adults were not harmed, Hill said, but the property was declared a loss.
"There were two vehicles in the garage which were a total loss," said Hill. "The structure was a total loss as well."
Firefighters responded to the fire at around 11:45 a.m. Hill said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
