"There's four angels who have been assigned a special assignment, because they're trying to earn their place in the heavenly choir. It ends up taking them to Bethlehem, because their assignment is to go and see Jesus being born," said Children's Ministry Director Sara Keller, adding that the play will be a "fun night for families to watch a play and learn a little more about the Christmas story."
RCCC will be holding a free movie night 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Yam Theatre in Portales.
According to Executive Director Karl Terry, the movie is "The Muppet Christmas Carol."
The movie night, he said, is "just a chance to kick back with family and watch a movie, and for folks that maybe don't have the means for the whole family to see the movie, this gives them a chance to go for a free movie."
Concessions such as popcorn, candy and soft drinks will be available for a low price, Terry said.
Clovis Community College will have its own version of "A Christmas Carol," in the form of "Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge." It will be shown 7 p.m. Dec. 14-17 and 2 p.m. Saturday at the CCC Town Hall. Tickets are $10 general admission, with a discount to $7 for either CCC Cultural Arts Series season ticket holders, seniors, students and military.
