• When: 3 p.m. (MST) today in a Lone Star Conference game at Canyon, Texas

• Records: ENMU 4-4 (0-1 LSC), West Texas A&M 9-1 (1-0)

• Last meeting: Feb. 27, the Buffaloes beat the Greyhounds 82-63 at Greyhound Arena.

• Last time out: Both teams opened LSC play on Thursday. ENMU lost at Texas-Permian Basin 94-79, while WT hammered Western New Mexico 91-55 at home.

• Of note: The Buffs have won the last three matchups with ENMU after the Hounds had put together a three-game win streak. Still, WT leads the all-time series 67-18, including 41-8 in Canyon. … The Buffs, averaging just over 90 ppg, are ranked 24th in NCAA Division II and off to their best start since 2011-12. … WT currently leads Division II in wins and has two over Top 25 squads (Arkansas-Fort Smith, Fort Lewis). The Buffs’ only loss was at Lubbock Christian (95-86 on Nov. 17 in their only true road outing). … Ironically, ENMU, which doesn’t play its first home game until next week, has already participated in two weekend events at WT’s First United Bank Center, going 3-1. … Eleven players scored for WT in the win over Western, led by 22 points from junior G David Chavlovich, the defending LSC player of the year and preseason player of the year, pumped in 22 points. Chavlovich is slightly off his league-leading pace of a year ago (20.5 ppg), averaging 17.9 so far this season. He’s struggled a bit from the floor, shooting 37 percent overall and 30 percent on 3s after making a school-record 111 from long range in 2015-16. Earlier this season, he moved into fourth on the school’s all-time scoring list, passing former NBA star Maurice Cheeks.

• Last meeting: Feb. 27, the Lady Buffs beat the Greyhounds 64-58 at Greyhound Arena.

• Last time out: Both teams opened conference play on Thursday with wins, ENMU edging Texas-Permian Basin 63-61 at Odessa, Texas, while the Lady Buffs routed Western New Mexico 100-52 at Canyon.

• Of note: The Lady Buffs, ranked No. 10 in Division II, have won the last three LSC regular-season titles and have gone 50-5 versus the league since February 2013. … WT leads the all-time series 65-10, including 39-1 at Canyon, and has won the last eight meetings and 19 of the last 20. The Hounds’ only win in that stretch was a 71-68 decision at Greyhound Arena in January 2012. Their only win at Canyon came in 1994, a 73-70 verdict in overtime. … The Lady Buffs shot 67 percent against WNMU, including 78 percent (24-for-31) in the first half, while holding the Lady Mustangs to 23 percent. Senior G Sydney Walton, a transfer from Oklahoma State, led the way with 24 points. … Five players average 9.6 ppg or better for WT, led by fifth-year senior G Alie Decker (13.6 ppg). Decker, from Edmond, Oklahoma, started her collegiate career at Division I Wichita State, sitting out her first year with a knee injury. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from WSU in three years with a B.A. degree in exercise science. … The Lady Buffs are 4-0 on a six-game homestand after opening the season 2-1 in a neutral-court event in California.
