ENMU's Connor named LSC defender of the week

PORTALES — Eastern New Mexico University junior Mikaehla Connor was named the Lone Star Conference’s defensive player of the week, according to a release from the college.

The 5-foot-9 Connor helped ENMU hold opponents to 30.6 percent shooting.

She had three blocks and two steals against West Texas A&M, and seven defensive rebounds, two blocks and a steal against Tarleton State to help the Greyhounds stay perfect in LSC play.

Connor was chosen as LSC offensive player of the week last week.

The Greyhounds resume the season Saturday in the Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada. They face Northwest Nazarene in a 4:15 p.m. MST tipoff.
