Of note: Almost no information was available on Borger, including names or record, but CHS coach Scott Robinson had a chance to scout the Bulldogs recently and said they like to play up-tempo. “They’re an athletic team,” he said. “They like to shoot 3s.” … The Wildcats played Borger in the Eastern New Mexico Tip-off two years ago at Greyhound Arena and rallied from a 13-point, second half deficit to beat the Bulldogs 56-49 win in Robinson’s second game as CHS head coach. … The Cats are coming off a week in which they won three of four outings, including victories over Carlsbad at home and La Cueva in last weekend’s Joe Armijo Invitational at Albuquerque Academy. “We’re coming off a good week and we’re looking to be able to continue that,” Robinson said. “We’ve got to take care of the basketball. We’ll have to try to get some easy baskets in transition.” … The Cats return home to face rival Portales in a 7 p.m. tipoff at Rock Staubus Gym on Tuesday.
