No matching pajamas this year

This morning is not your typical Sunday morning. It’s Christmas morning and today is one of your most favorite days of the year. The last time Christmas landed on Sunday was in 2011 and before that in 2005.

Your typical Sunday morning routine starts with reading the newspaper with a cup of coffee, then church and later football. If you’ve managed to read your paper first thing this task-filled morning, you're off to a great start because I have some comfy outfit suggestions to share with you.

So what does your Christmas morning fashion usually look like? It depends on who you ask. A typical Christmas morning for most families is waking up and throwing on the first thing they see before dashing down to the Christmas tree to hand out gifts. Normally, no one is taking the time to get dressed and comb their hair.

On Christmas morning, you must first put on something cute and comfortable. Because someone is more than likely taking pictures, you've got to be picture ready no matter how casual your outfit is, especially if there are kiddos in the home.

There's nothing more exciting than capturing the looks on their faces when they open up that one gift they’ve been asking for all year. You wouldn't want yourself or your family members to be caught on Facebook with holey socks, dingy T-shirts and disheveled hair.

So, if you’re dad, go to your dresser drawer and pull out those cozy, bright-colored socks you were gifted last year and didn't know when you'd ever wear them. Then put on your coolest and most favorite pair of gray sweats. Comfort is important. You’re at home, so it should be.

Moms can throw on their big cozy sweaters over a pair of yoga pants and festive socks or slippers. You don’t have to wear the matching plaid pajamas for Christmas this year.

Track pants, vintage T-shirts and tights are what we're slipping into this morning. Have a cool, casual and festive day.
