The Curry County Commission is scheduled to meet 9 a.m. today at the North Annex of the Clovis Carver Public Library.
A key item on the agenda is requested approval of a special commission work session regarding the adult detention center addition and renovation project. The session is slated for 9 a.m. Jan. 25 at the commission chambers at 417 Gidding Street.
Other agenda items include:
• Presentation of retirement plaque to Beni Dampier of the Curry County Clerk’s Office.
• Presentation of a proclamation for 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in Curry County.
• Presentation of a proclamation declaring January 2017 as Allergy Awareness Month in Curry County.
• Requested approval of agreement between Curry County and the New Mexico Department of Public Safety to fund checkpoints and/or saturation patrols conducted by the New Mexico State Police through the LDWI Grant Not to Exceed $7,350 for a term of July 1, 2016 to June 15, 2017.
• Discussion and requested action on Resolution #2017-04 declaring a fire danger emergency in Curry County.
• Discussion and requested action on Resolution #2017-01 compliance with the New Mexico Open Meetings Act.
• Requested approval of contract renewal with Securus Technologies, Inc., for inmate phone services for Curry County Detention Centers to extend through Sept. 11.
