Last time out: ENMU held off Angelo State 76-72 Saturday for its first 10-0 LSC start and a sweep through the first half of the conference schedule. The Lady Buffs lost their second straight, 78-60 at Texas A&M-Commerce.

Last meeting: Dec. 3, ENMU 72-67. WT leads the series 70-15 overall, with 12 of ENMU’s victories at home.

Notes: This is the second time during the season Mikaehla Connor and Daeshi McCants are the reigning LSC offensive and defensive players of the week. Connor scored a career-high 25 points against Angelo State, while McCants had 14 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks. The pair also swept the awards Dec. 5. ... The Greyhounds are going for potentially the first season sweep over the Lady Buffs in program history. The Greyhounds have a three-game winning streak over WT, but that streak included the last matchup of one season, a tournament game and the first game of the following season. ... Sasha Watson leads the LSC with 4.4 assists per game and is the No. 6 scorer in conference with 14.6 points per game. ... The Greyhounds are ranked 17th in the Division II media poll. It is the team’s first time making the top 25 in the poll’s three-season history. ENMU has the most points of any team outside of the top 25 in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association poll. ENMU Sports Information Director Adam Pitterman said information from the WBCA on any prior ENMU appearance is so far inconclusive. The WBCA only had public archives available dating back to 2002, and is researching prior seasons. Pitterman said if ENMU had a ranking at any point, it would most likely be during its 1992-93 LSC championship season.

Men

Records: WT 18-4, 6-3. ENMU 7-12, 1-8.

Last time out: The Buffs fell to Texas A&M-Commerce 104-103 in double overtime to fall into a four-way tie for second place at the halfway point of the LSC season. The Greyhounds fell three games out of the eighth and final tournament spot with a 68-64 loss at Angelo State.

Last meeting: Dec. 3, WT 92-86.

Notes: The Hounds will continue to be without senior G Cornell Neal, who is serving the last game of a two-game suspension for picking up his fourth technical foul in conference play. He leads the Greyhounds at 14.5 points per game. ... WT’s David Chavlovich leads the LSC in scoring at 20.3 points per game and in overall field goal attempts (342). He is also third in assists at 4.4 per contest. ... The Buffs are second behind Texas-Permian Basin with 89.8 points per game, but eighth in defense at 79.7 points allowed. The Greyhounds are eighth and ninth in those same categories, with 75.9 points scored against 80.1 surrendered.
