ENMU joins Coaches vs. Cancer effort

PORTALES — The Eastern New Mexico University men’s and women’s basketball teams are taking part in the Coaches vs. Cancer 3-Point Challenge from Feb. 1-March 5.

Every 3-point shot made by the Greyhounds during this time will result in donations to the American Cancer Society.

Pledges can be made in a flat rate, or by pledging a certain amount per 3-pointer made. Pledges can be made online at https://pledgeit.org/cvc-enmu.

Both the men’s and women’s teams are averaging almost seven 3-pointers per game (6.9 for women, 6.7 for men). During the pledge period, the teams have a combined 15 regular season games and up to six tournament games remaining.

Additionally, the men’s team will wear tennis shoes for Thursday’s game against West Texas A&M. Tipoff for the women’s game is slated for 5:30 p.m. with the men to follow.
