New principal hired for Marshall Middle School

CLOVIS — Clovis Municipal Schools has hired a new principal for Marshall Middle School, according to a release from the district.

Todd Morris will begin as principal Feb. 6.

Morris is currently associate principal for the Choices alternate high school program, and is a former principal at Bickley Elementary and Portales’ Valencia Elementary.

Morris’ position at Choices will be absorbed by Clovis High Principal Jay Brady and his assistant principals at a savings of $100,000. Choices moved onto the CHS campus in 2015.

According to the release, current principal Jennifer Longley requested reassignment to a teaching position in the district. Longley, who had previously served as principal at the now-shuttered Ranchvale Elementary, will teach third grade at Zia Elementary, also effective Feb. 6.

Longley was first tapped replaced Brady at MMS, after Brady was promoted to CHS to succeed the retired Wayne Marshall.
