Last time out: Thursday, the Falcons crushed Western New Mexico 97-61 at Silver City while the Hounds upended 20th-ranked West Texas A&M 96-83 at home.

Last meeting: Dec. 1, the Falcons beat ENMU 94-79 in the LSC opener for both teams at Odessa, Texas.

Of note: This is UTPB’s first season in the LSC. … The Falcons average 90 ppg and allow just under 78. They scored 90 or more in each of their first 10 games, including four consecutive outings of more than 100, but had gone eight contests since reaching the 90 mark prior to Thursday. … Leaders for the Falcons are junior G Daeshon Francis (18.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 57 percent FGs, 78 percent FTs), senior G Johnny Lacey (16.5 ppg), junior G James McPherson (13.6 ppg) and junior F Josh Morris (10.8 ppg, 74 percent FGs on 81-of-109). At 6-foot-7, Morris is one of four Falcons at that height or taller. … UTPB has won five in a row, all in the conference, and the last three on the road, where they had been 0-3 prior to that.

Records: UTPB 6-11 (3-8 LSC), ENMU 14-4 (10-1)

Last time out: Thursday, the Falcons posted easily a season scoring high in a 97-61 romp at Western New Mexico, while the Greyhounds suffered their first LSC loss 62-52 to West Texas A&M at home.

Last meeting: Dec. 1, the Hounds outlasted the Falcons 63-61 in the conference opener for both at Odessa, Texas.

Of note: UTPB had dropped four in a row and eight of nine before Thursday’s win. … The Falcons have played just four home games so far (1-3), but they go home for five in a row after today’s outing. … Leaders for the team are junior G Briana Caro (13.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg) and senior G Niva Taito (11.4 ppg). … ENMU’s loss on Thursday was just its second in nine home games so far. Their other setback came against Fort Lewis in November. … The Lady Buffs held the Hounds to their second-lowest point total in regular-season games this season. They scored 49 in a loss to Wayland Baptist on Nov. 18.
