1997: "Life-changing services" were scheduled at The Potter's House, Fourth and Main in Clovis.
Evangelist Mark Aulson was scheduled to lead services.
A newspaper ad asked, "Is your family pulling apart? Are your hopes and dreams unraveling? Are your finances stretched to the breaking point?"
"You can start over," the ad reported. "Find out why Jesus is the answer."
1992: Clovis-Carver Public Library opened on Main Street with 65,000 items available for checkout, including books, records and tapes.
"I like the thing beside the bean bags," said 5-year-old Samuel Billingsley.
"It has steps, and I climbed up and down the stairs. I played on the bean bags, too."
