1997: Phillip Moore, 43, was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to vehicular homicide.
Margie Robinson, 17, and Rebecca Talley, 7, died in the 2005 crash at the intersection of Curry Road 14 and Thornton Street.
"The cause of this accident was not seat belts; it was not county road signs; it was not sun in someone's eyes. It was drinking and driving," Prosecutor Randall Harris told jurors.
Rebecca Talley's mother and two siblings, all of Texico, were also seriously injured in the accident.
1997: Dr. Kennedy Merritt retained his seat on the Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education, defeating challenger Dale Killen, 336 votes to 145.
Officials said fewer than 5 percent of registered voters participated in the election.
1992: Clovis High School students Aaron Ratledge and Leslie Wooten were among performers in the school choir's "Musical Spectacular 1992."
Ratledge and Wooten sang "Sweet Georgia Brown."
