Last time out: Thursday, the Hounds pushed 12th-ranked and conference-leading Tarleton State to the wire before dropping a 76-74 decision at Stephenville, Texas. The Lions roared past Western New Mexico 112-79 at home.

Last meeting: Dec. 8, Commerce defeated ENMU 83-73 at Greyhound Arena after building a 40-24 halftime cushion.

Of note: The Lions are ranked fifth in the NCAA Division II South Central Region. … Commerce is led by senior Gs Malik Albert (18.1 ppg, 41 steals) and Trey Seymore (15.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.1 apg). … Coach Sam Walker has been at Commerce for 26 seasons, the last 17 as head coach. He’s the second-winningest active coach in the conference (282-196) behind Tarleton State’s Lonn Reisman. … WNMU scored the first 10 points in Thursday’s game before the Lions stormed back. They finished with 68 bench points, 59 percent shooting from the field and a season-high seven players in double figures.

Last time out: Thursday, the Greyhounds won at Tarleton State 81-76 in two overtimes. The Lions cruised past Western New Mexico 92-65 at home.

Last meeting: Dec. 8, ENMU posted a 75-64 win over the Lions at Greyhound Arena.

Of note: ENMU is now 3-0 in overtime games this season. Seven of its wins have come after trailing by at least seven points. … Commerce had won five in a row before losing last Saturday at Cameron 96-94, getting outscored by the Aggies 30-26 in the final quarter. … Top players for the Lions are junior F Artaejah Gay (14.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 25 blocks) and senior Gs Khala Riley (12.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 36 steals) and Krystal Pickron (11.5 ppg). Gay scored 18 of her team-high 20 points in the first half on Thursday against WNMU. … With Thursday’s win, the Hounds improved to 7-1 this season in true road games.
