ENMU duo post NCAA D-II indoor track qualifying marks

ALBUQUERQUE — Eastern New Mexico University’s Klaudia Szych aqnd Melina Gryschka posted NCAA Division II national indoor track qualifying marks on Saturday as the Greyhounds competed in the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, hosted by the University of New Mexico.

Szych finished second in the event with a time of 2 minutes, 12.13 seconds. Meantime, Gryschka, fourth in the 800 in 2:15.29, took third place to qualify in the mile run at 4:57.48.

The men’s 1,600 relay team of Avery Rasher, Augustus Swanson, Ivar Moinat and Marcus Parker fell just short of a qualifying mark, finishing fourth in the event in a time of 3:18.81.

ENMU squads return to action in the Lone Star Conference indoor championships, scheduled for Feb. 18 at Alamosa, Colorado.
