Boys

Santa Fe High at Clovis

When: 6:30 p.m. today at The Rock in a District 2-6A matchup.

Records: Santa Fe High 15-8 (5-2 district), Clovis 10-13 (3-4)

First meeting: Jan. 24, the Demons edged the Wildcats 54-49 at Santa Fe.

Last time out: Tuesday, the Demons lost at La Cueva 62-58. The Wildcats won at Manzano in overtime 70-69.

Of note: The Cats have struggled since reaching the Class 6A state championship game in 2013, posting a record of 30-72 in the nearly four seasons since then. Santa Fe High, though, has for all intents and purposes ended a decade of frustration. Since going 19-12 in 2005-06, the Demons have had 10 consecutive losing campaigns with a combined record of 90-182. … Senior Fs Bailey Lozada-Cabbage (16) and David Marquez (14) did most of the damage in the earlier meeting for the Demons, who built a 16-6 first-quarter lead and held on. Junior G Jakeem Wynn led all scorers with 27 points for the Cats.

Girls

Clovis at Santa Fe High

Records: Clovis 9-14 (2-5 district), Santa Fe High 9-14 (2-5)

Last meeting: Jan. 24, the Demonettes rallied from a halftime deficit to beat the Lady Wildcats 54-41 at Rock Staubus Gym.

Last time out: Tuesday, the Lady Cats beat Manzano 48-36 at the Rock, while the Demonettes lost at home to La Cueva 57-40.

Of note: The Demonettes are 4-6 at home and on the road this season. … Junior G Adonica Martinez scored 18 points and senior P Elena Gonzalez added 14 for Santa Fe High in the earlier meeting. Junior G Hayley Kidd paced the Lady Cats with 12 points.
