Pink, red mark big day

Valentine's Day is Tuesday, and I asked a few friends what their Valentine's Day plans and style look like. Here, they share their 2017 Valentine's Day and what they'll most likely be wearing, or have worn for fashions past:

Subject one, who has been a friend since middle school, said luckily she has to work this Valentine’s Day. Briana plans to wear a pink lip, nude pink nail polish, a red sweater to go under her "hideous work shirt," black boots and jeans. Even though she has to work, it looks like she still has love on the brain this year with her choices of pink and red for the big day. She said her biggest challenge is going to be "trying to dress up the "worst, ill-fitting, faded black polo that really dampens the holidays." If she's lucky and doesn't have to work, she said she will make it a girl's night and watch the new "50 Shades" with her sister; and reimagine another outfit to pair with either her light pink suede or red pumps.

Down the street is my friend T.A., who plans to take her daughter to dinner for the big day. She said they don't typically dress up for Valentine's Day, but instead just love to enjoy each other’s company; but I'll have you know, this work buddy of mine reserves enough fabulousness throughout the season that she gets a pass this year.

Whether you’re single or having a date night on Valentine's Day, this year there's enough fashion and celebration to go around for everyone. No matter who's sitting next to or across from you this year, playing dress up for the day is fun to do. The weather is supposed to be nice, so you'll have a variety of looks to choose from.

Even if you style your hair differently or dress up a pair of jeans with a nice floral print, it’ll suffice. Don't go all out red because that's just too much for any occasion. Painting your nails red is good enough.

If you have a nice, fancy evening planned with your loved one, you can never go wrong with the classic little black dress. Try on a choker necklace if you haven’t dared to this year.
