Serving Clovis, Portales and the Surrounding Communities
The chance of snow still hovers over eastern New Mexico, but what is to follow is a weekend of sunshine, according to meteorologists.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Chris Luckett said there is a 60 percent chance of a mix of sleet, rain and snow. Clovis and Portales can expect one to two and a half inches of snow until this evening with a high in the upper 30s.
Luckett added that it will still be overcast in Clovis and Portales, but there will be "less cloud coverage late today going into early Wednesday morning."
But with the exit of clouds comes warmer weather for the second half of the week. Temperatures should reach the low 50s on Wednesday with a 10-degree increase on Thursday.
Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-60s by Friday, said Luckett.
