Lady Blue advavnces in tourney

LITTLEFIELD — After a bit of a slow start, the Farwell Lady Blue took off quickly and rolled to a 78-22 victory over Floydada in a Class 2A bi-district girls basketball game on Monday night.

Senior Lindsi Coburn and sophomore Maria Maldonado both outscored the Lady Whirlwinds by themselves, finishing with 28 and 26 points respectively. Sophomore Katey White also reached double figures with 12 points.

Farwell (25-4) led just 17-12 at the quarter, but outscored Floydada 26-3 in the second stanza to open a 28-point halftime lead.

The Lady Blue will face Panhandle in an area round game at Canyon High School on Friday at 8 p.m. (CST).
