Church hosting revival

The Living Word Church of God in Clovis is hosting a revival starting today and going through the weekend.

The free event starts at 7 p.m. today and Saturday, and 10:45 a.m. Sunday at 3719 East 21st Street.

Pastor David Stevens said New Beginnings-Crestview Pastor Reece Watson, from Albuquerque, will be the guest speaker, with music on Saturday by church music group 2-4 God and the Living Word Celebrate Recovery Praise Team.

Samaritan House hosting celebration

The Samaritan House in Clovis is hosting their seventh annual Black History Empowerment Celebration from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Brethren.

The event is hosted to celebrate Black History Month and to share the goals of the Samaritan House, Samaritan House board member Bonetta Hutson said.

The Samaritan House opened a new home in January to help those in the community struggling with homelessness and drug addiction.

The free event includes music, clothing items for sale, door prizes and free food.
