This fishing report, provided by Bill Dunn and New Mexico Department of Game & Fish, has been generated from the best information available from area officers and anglers. Conditions encountered after the report is compiled may differ, as stream, lake and weather conditions alter fish and angler activities.
Northwest
Abiquiu Lake — We had no reports from anglers this week.
Animas River — Water flow near Aztec on Monday morning was 563 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains — Fishing on the Albuquerque Drain was very good using salmon eggs, wax worms, earth worms and PowerBait for trout. Fishing on the Belen and Peralta Drains was good using worms and salmon eggs for trout. We had no other reports.
Bluewater Lake — The lake is now completely free of ice. Both boat ramps are open and the lake level has come up about 16 feet. We had no reports from anglers.
Brazos River — We had no reports from anglers this week.
Canjilon Lakes — Closed by the U.S. Forest Service until further notice due to danger from falling trees.
Chama River — Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 114 cfs and 79 cfs respectively. Fishing below Abiquiu was fair to good using small bead-head nymphs and salmon eggs for trout.
Cochiti Lake — We had no reports from anglers this week.
El Vado Lake — As of Monday, the lake was free of ice. We had no reports from anglers.
Fenton Lake — Closed to fishing and all other activities due to thin ice conditions. For updates, call the state park office at (575) 829-3630.
Heron Lake — As of this past Monday, the lake was completely free of ice and open to bank fishing. The boat ramps remained closed. We had no reports from anglers.
Jackson Lake — We had no reports from anglers this week.
Jemez Waters — Stream flow on the Jemez River near Jemez Springs on Monday morning was 62 cfs. Early in the week, fishing on the Jemez was slow with the high-water conditions. Fishing on the Cebolla above Fenton Lake was good using salmon eggs. We had no reports from other streams in the area.
Lake Farmington — Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout.
Manzano Lake — We had no reports from anglers this week.
Navajo Lake — Fishing for northern pike was slow to fair using jerk baits and swim baits. Fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass was slow with just a few caught by anglers using swim baits and jigs. We had no other reports.
San Gregorio Lake — We had no reports from anglers.
San Juan River — Stream flow from Navajo Reservoir on Monday was 517 cfs. Trout fishing through the Quality waters was fair using princess nymphs, small streamers, Desert Storms, bunny leeches, OJs, egg patterns and red larva. Fishing through the bait waters was fair using salmon eggs, PowerBait, worms, wooly buggers and jerk baits
Tingley Beach — Trout fishing at the Central and Youth ponds was very good using Pistol Petes, PowerBait, homemade dough bait and salmon eggs. Fishing at the Bob Gerding Catch and Release Pond was fair using San Juan worms, streamers and small egg patterns. We had no other reports.

Northeast
Cimarron River — Stream flow near Cimarron on Monday was 8.4 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Conchas Lake — Fishing was slow to fair using spoons and crank baits for a mixed bag of walleye and white bass. We had no other reports.
Cowles Ponds — We had no reports from anglers this week.
Coyote Creek — We had no reports from anglers this week.
Eagle Rock Lake — We had no reports from anglers this week.
Eagle Nest Lake — Closed to ice fishing due to thinning ice conditions. For updates on ice conditions, call the state park office at (575) 377-1594.

Monastery Lake — Fishing was good using PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs for trout.
Pecos River — Fishing was good using salmon eggs, worms and small bright colored nymphs for trout.
Red River — Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday was 44 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Grande — Stream flow on Monday at the Taos Junction Bridge was 755 cfs. Fishing was slow for all species.
Rio Hondo — Stream flow near Valdez on Monday was 18 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Rio Pueblo — Stream flow near Penasco on Monday was 14 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Santa Cruz Reservoir — Fishing was fair using Kastmasters, PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. We had no other reports.

Storrie Lake — Fishing was slow with just a few trout caught by anglers using PowerBait.
Ute Lake — Walleye fishing was slow but a few were caught by anglers using crank baits and jigging spoons. We had no other reports. Fishing pressure was very light.

Bear Canyon Lake — Fishing was good using chartreuse and garlic PowerBait for trout. We had no other reports.

Elephant Butte Lake — Fishing was fair to good using jerk baits, crank baits and spoons for white bass. Fishing was fair using crank baits and jerk baits for largemouth bass. Fishing was slow to fair using cut bait and liver for catfish. We had no other reports.
Escondida Lake — Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, Fisher Chick spinners, PowerBait, homemade dough bait and salmon eggs for trout. We had no other reports.
Gila River — Stream flow on Monday morning was 1,250 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Blue Hole Park Pond — Fishing was fair using PowerBait, marshmallows and salmon eggs for trout.
Bonito Lake — Closed until further notice by the city of Alamogordo due to fire damage.
Bosque Redondo Lake — Fishing was fair using PowerBait, worms, salmon eggs and salmon egg marshmallow combinations for trout. We had no other reports.
Bottomless Lakes — Fishing was fair to good using Pistol Petes and PowerBait for trout.
Brantley Lake — Anglers are required to catch and release all fish here as high levels of pesticides have been found in some fish. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Carlsbad Municipal Lake — Fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and worms for trout. We had no other reports.
Chaparral Park Lake — Fishing was fair using salmon eggs and PowerBait for trout.
El Rito Creek — Fishing was good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, worms, Pistol Petes and garlic cheese for trout. We had no other reports.
Eunice Lake — Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait for trout.

Oasis Park Lake — Fishing for trout was good using marshmallows, salmon eggs and assorted colors of PowerBait.
Pecos River — Stream flow below Sumner Lake on Monday was 21 cfs. Trout fishing was fair to good using PowerBait and Pistol Petes. We had no other reports.
Perch Lake — Fishing was good using Pistol Petes, homemade dough bait, PowerBait, worms and salmon eggs for trout.
Ruidoso River — Stream flow at Hollywood on Monday was 10 cfs. Fishing was slow to fair using salmon eggs for trout.
Santa Rosa Lake — There were a few anglers on the water this past week but we had no reports.
Sumner Lake — Fishing was good using jig and grub combinations and spoons for walleye. Most of the fish were caught at 25 feet or deeper. Anglers fishing for walleye also picked up a few white bass. The surface water temp was about 45 degrees. We had no other reports.
