Senior Melina Gryschka became the school's first female to win a Lone Star Conference season track honor, winning outstanding track athlete to conclude the LSC's indoor track and field season.
The Garbsen, Germany native helped the Greyhounds take three event wins over the weekend, with wins in the mile (5:16.89), 3K (10:49.02) and the distance medley relay (12:53.05, with Kandace Miles, Sierra Quinones and Klaudia Szych).
Gryschka is the second Greyhound athlete to claim an LSC award in indoor track and field, and the third to claim any track and field season award.
"Melina had an outstanding weekend," ENMU coach Danielle Kcholi said in a release from the school. "We feel very honored that she received this award."
Isaiah Samoei shared outstanding male track athlete at the 2013 championships with Abilene Christian's Jordan Geary, and was male track athlete for the overall 2014 season. Bill Squire was the LSC's 2011 male academic athlete of the year in outdoor track and field.
The Lone Star Conference has offered indoor track and field for the last five seasons.
A total of 124 athletes were honored with first-, second- or third-team LSC honors based on top-three finishes in each championship event.
First-team nods for ENMU were earned by the distance relay team, Szych (400) and Marcus Parker (200).
Second-teamers for ENMU were Omer Almog (mile), Kenneth Lloyd (high jump) and the mile relay team of Travonne Armstead, Avery Rasher, Julian Coronado and Gus Swanson.
Third-teamers for ENMU were Swanson (400), Almog (5K) and the men's distance medley relay team of Tito Chaldez, Ivar Noinat, Benjamin Lantz and Marcel Skalecki.
