ODESSA, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University’s rodeo teams began the spring semester portion of their schedule over the weekend in the Odessa College rodeo.
The women finished third with 190 points, trailing Texas Tech (340) and Tarleton State (265).
Tarleton took men’s team honors with 593 points to 462 1/2 for Western Texas College. ENMU was 1Oth with90 points.
Senior Lindsey Adcock bounced back from a sixth-place finish in the first go in breakaway roping to place third in the short round and third in average for the Greyhounds, leading five ENMU athletes who reached the short go in the event. Senior Tierra Gray was fourth after a first-place finish in the short-round while senior Shailynn Schaefer and junior Cara Vierstra also made it to the short round.
On the men’s side, the Hounds were led by a fourth-place finish in saddle bronc riding by Jacob Lewis. Lewis split third and fourth in the short round after a sixth-place finish in the first go.
Also for the men, Ring Robinson reached the short round after a fourth-place finish in the first go.
ENMU rodeo teams are back in action on March 23-25 in the Ranger College rodeo.
